About

Jessica Thomas Shonebarger serves as Women’s Pastor at Elevated Church, with a heart for helping women know Jesus deeply, become grounded in Scripture, recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit, and confidently walk in what God has called them to do. She believes ministry begins with relationship with Jesus and that what we do for Him should always flow from first being with Him.

A significant part of Jessica’s ministry is investing in women who are serving and leading. Through discipleship and mentorship, she desires to take what God has taught her through years of ministry—the victories, mistakes, difficult seasons, and His continued faithfulness—and invest it into the women coming behind her. Her heart is not simply to do ministry, but to help develop women who will disciple, lead, and invest in others.

Elevated Church has been part of Jessica’s life from the beginning. Raised by Pastor Mike and Gail Thomas, she grew up in the church and has served in many different ministry roles over the years. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Lee University in 2004, she returned to Pinellas County and began serving as Elevated’s Youth Director in 2005.

Jessica married Eric Shonebarger in 2007, and they have served together through many seasons of ministry. Today, Eric serves as Lead Pastor of Elevated Church. Outside of her role at Elevated, Jessica is Executive Director of PromoStandards, a nonprofit organization in the promotional products industry.

Jessica and Eric have two daughters, Abigail and Madelyn, and live in Seminole, Florida. When she isn’t working or serving, Jessica most enjoys spending time with her family. Her heart is to faithfully serve the church she loves while helping prepare the next generation to carry forward what God has entrusted to them.

In Their Words

Called to serve the local church, disciple others, and raise up the next generation of leaders—especially women who are grounded in Scripture, led by the Holy Spirit, and confident in their calling.

"What do you mean, 'If I can'?" Jesus asked. "Anything is possible if a person believes." The father instantly cried out, "I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!"

Mark 9:23-24
