Verse 1: The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want
Tip: If the Lord is your Shepherd, for God’s sake, let Him have His way. Then you won’t be missing anything. Just trust Him!
Verse 2: He makes me to lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside the still waters
Tip: When the Shepherd says it’s time to rest on soft green grass, don’t argue with Him – do it! Positioning is important to Him. When He leads you beside calm, quiet waters, He’s trying to lovingly repair your weary, raggedy self. Let Him!
Verse 3: He restores my soul; He leads me in the path of righteousness for His name’s sake
Tip: The Shepherd is going to wisely lead you on the right paths through the issues of life. Following His lead will bring honor to His name. To you will come safety and peace. Don’t miss out!
Verse 4: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me
Tip: When dark shadows threaten, stay close to the Shepherd. He is fearless in the protection of His flock. He never runs out of compassion for His sheep. Accept it!
Verse 5: You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over
Tip: The Shepherd will separate you into His special flock and will host a banquet for you – even as your greatest enemies look on. It is your reward for choosing faith over fear. Enjoy it!
Verse 6: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever
Tip: If you follow the Shepherd, His goodness and mercy – as much as you need – will always be part of your life. Abundance is His calling card. Receive it!
Following the Shepherd, being able to live with Him and for Him, is the greatest adventure a sheep can have. Believe it!
